Weiman brothers, Sean and Derek, always dreamed of opening a surf shop. As they aged, their love of surfing grew, as did their dream, but unfortunately in 2004 life took a different turn. Derek was diagnosed with Wegener's disease, a rare illness which destroys blood vessels and major organs, he passed away on Halloween. One year later, using their home as collateral, Sean and his wife Lisa secured a business loan and with the help of several fellow surfers they remodeled a delapitaed space in Seaside, California into a thriving surf shop that served not only as a retail base but also as a social outlet for local surfers and friends. Fast forward five years later, and Liquid has moved twice, establishing themselves in the oceanside community of Carmel, California offering several top brands of surf apparel, surfboards, surf and skate accessories, and their own line of Liquid Surf Shop designs.
